    ōrra tele jahōha;
    I had some food./I [ate] food.

    Yes, I suppose.

    If you want to specify what you ate, though, you wouldn’t need jahōha. You could just say:
    ōrra tele japēŋŋi;
    I had potatoes/I [ate] potatoes.

    Or, if you are emphasizing the food:
    ōrra ñi japēŋŋi jajīlni;
    The potatoes were eaten.

    ōrra ñi jahōha jajīlne;
    The food was eaten.
