In Egyptian, this was referred to as the ba. The other part was the ka. I forget if there was another part… But I know there couldn’t have been more than three.
I got the idea for four parts from reading a novel wherein it was said that the Chinese thought people had two souls -one of which was an animating spirit. Copying that left me with three, and well, KÄ“leni do things in fours, so four parts – one physical, three not.
